Our team is known for advising debtors, trustees, creditors, and fiduciaries across a wide range of industries, from large multinational restructurings to middle-market cases.<br><br>Our practice is intentionally lean and partner-driven, enabling associates to gain exposure to every stage of the restructuring process, including case commencement, plan development, litigation, and asset recovery actions.<br><br><br><strong><u>Why join us?<br><br></u></strong>True hands-on experience early – work directly with partners on filings, strategy, and court-facing matters<br>High-caliber work without BigLaw layers – sophisticated Chapter 11 cases at an elite level<br>Broad exposure – represent debtors, trustees, and post-confirmation fiduciaries across matters<br>Lean team structure – more responsibility, faster development, and meaningful client interaction<br>Competitive compensation – base salary and discretionary bonuses in line with top firms<br>Balanced expectations – ~1900 billable hours with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, Tues–Thurs)<br><br><br><strong><u>Job Details<br><br></u></strong>Responsibilities<br>Assist in representing corporate debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings, including:<br>Preparing petitions and first-day motions<br>Supporting matters involving DIP financing and cash collateral (critical tools that allow companies to continue operating through bankruptcy)<br>Work on restructuring strategy and case progression from filing through confirmation<br>Support representation of trustees, post-confirmation plan administrators, and other fiduciaries<br>Handle litigation and adversary proceedings, including:<br>Avoidance actions (preferences and fraudulent conveyance)<br>Draft pleadings, motions, and bankruptcy court filings<br>Conduct legal research and assist with creditor negotiations and claims analysis<br><br>Qualifications<br>JD from a top law school and admitted (or eligible) in New York<br>1–4 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or related practice<br>Experience working on Chapter 11 debtor-side matters preferred:<br>Exposure to petitions, first-day motions, and DIP financing strongly valued<br>Experience with trustee or post-confirmation work is a plus<br>Background in avoidance actions (plaintiff or defense) is a plus<br>Prior experience at a top-tier law firm (e.g., major NYC firms) is a plus<br>Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills<br>Ability to thrive in a lean, high-responsibility environment<br><br>Interested in hearing more?
