Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, helping us stay on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage and oversee all aspects of accounts receivable, collections, and reporting weekly denials. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong communication skills to cooperate effectively with insurance providers and internal teams.
Objectives of this role
Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement
Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates
Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with national and local financial requirements
Key Responsibilities
Billing Assistance: Monitor and resolve any discrepancies in billing and payment records.
Collections: Follow up on outstanding accounts, utilizing phone calls, emails, and letters to secure timely payments.
Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions in the company’s financial system [ContinuLink].
Pull RA’s and ERA’s from vendors for posting and analyzing.
Reporting: Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare weekly aging reports, through Excel, and present findings to the billing team.
Qualifications
Skills
Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable) - Preferred
Experience in Home Health billing - Preferred
Proficient in accounting software, especially Excel.
Strong Math & Problem-Solving skills.
Superb time management and detail orientation
Proficiency with Google Drive
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
